Good Day, Friends of acupuncture,

Long time ago, it must be nearly 40 years that I traveled to the Far East to learn acupuncture from different masters, some of whom were very famous in their time. This long trip, which lasted three years, gave me a direct approach, at the origin, of the technique. It gave me also the opportunity to learn how to speak Chinese and read in many texts what could be interesting and useful for us Westerners. It is this stock of knowledge, to which were added dozens of years of thinking, of doubts, of commentaries, of happenings, of enthusiasm, that I would like to hand down. I decided to write a few books in which I would tackle first one of the most important aspects of acupuncture, namely the methods for locating a point. The Chinese practitioners have for a long time used and presented them, but in a less structured way, although very intelligently. What I wanted to do was to gather all these methods, go over all the smart tricks they used to find a point, and get them organized, classified, systematized, so that in the West we would have a tool which was not only necessary but also very useful for this purpose. In this book you will find what exists in most of the manuals for teaching as well as in the publications for the general public.

In a second book, which is to be published soon, I examine in detail 67 important acupuncture points, how to find them, how to differentiate the didactic from the practical, how to adapt their use in our western medical environment. Each time I give comments and thoughts about what is found in the books and what is to be done with a patient.

In both books, as well as in the following ones, I give dozens of stories, of anecdotes, of analyses, of personal thoughts, in order to make the reading less tedious and more entertaining not only for the student and the practitioner, but also for those who are simply curious about acupuncture.
